I Am Soo Here for Summer Tipi Weddings… Every Time!
Maybe you’ve landed on this blog because you’re planning a summer wedding. Or maybe you’re dreaming about a tipi wedding. Or perhaps you’re planning a wedding in Buckinghamshire.
Or… the ultimate combo - a summer tipi wedding in Buckinghamshire?
If that’s you, hello! I’m Chris, and I absolutely love tipi weddings. Especially ones like Emma & Josh’s at Vanstone Park - a day full of personality, relaxed vibes, and just pure joy from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, I could tell it was going to be a special one. There were so many thoughtful personal touches, their dog made an appearance (always a win in my book), and the sun was shining non-stop. Summer weddings in Buckinghamshire just hit differently. There’s something about the warm light, the countryside views, and that unmistakable laid-back British summer atmosphere that makes days like this feel pretty magical.
A Ceremony in the Field Beside the Tipi
Emma & Josh’s ceremony was one of those moments where everything just felt right. It took place outdoors in the field beside the tipi, surrounded by friends, family and the kind of summer light that makes a tipi wedding feel extra special. The ceremony itself was officiated by one of their close friends, which always adds something really personal to the moment. There were laughs, a few beautifully awkward pauses, and plenty of tears - including from Emma herself (which obviously set a few others off too).
One of my favourite moments came straight after, when everyone gathered for the confetti throw. And not just any confetti - the good stuff. Proper confetti that floats through the air instead of dropping straight to the ground. Absolute gold for photos. If you're planning a Buckinghamshire wedding, or even a wedding in Hitchin with relaxed outdoor vibes like this, a tipi setup like this is honestly hard to beat. As a tipi wedding photographer, these moments are exactly why I love shooting weddings like this.
Laughter, Tears, and a Surprise from Josh
After the ceremony, everyone gathered back inside the tipi for the speeches - this is where the day really came alive. With everyone close together and drinks in hand, the vibe was completely relaxed, full of laughter, and brimming with personality - exactly why tipi weddings feel so special.
There were plenty of moments that had everyone in stitches, but the highlight came when Josh surprised Emma with an audio recording from her students, congratulating her on her wedding day. The tipi went from quiet anticipation to a room full of smiles, laughter, and even a few happy tears in seconds. It’s moments like this that make tipi weddings so special. Nothing staged, just genuine reactions, heartfelt messages, and an atmosphere where the couple’s joy truly shines.
Dancing the Night Away
The day wrapped up with a proper party, exactly the kind of ending a tipi wedding deserves. There was a live band, everyone got up, and everyone was fully on it. No holding back - just pure dancing, laughter, and that brilliant, chaotic energy that makes summer weddings so much fun.
Tipis somehow make it feel even more intimate - you’re all together in one space, celebrating, shouting, and letting loose. By the end of the night, people were sweaty, happy, and probably questioning their dance moves… but who cares? This is exactly what a summer tipi wedding in Buckinghamshire is all about!
